What is Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE)?
Prostatic Artery Embolization (PAE) is a minimally invasive procedure designed to treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a common condition in older men where the prostate gland enlarges, causing urinary difficulties. PAE offers an alternative to traditional surgical methods by reducing the blood supply to the prostate, thereby shrinking it and relieving symptoms. The procedure is performed by an interventional radiologist who uses advanced imaging techniques to guide the catheter through the arteries to the prostate. Tiny particles are then injected to block the blood flow selectively, leading to a reduction in the size of the prostate.
The largest PAE study to date of 1075 patients – published by Dr. Bhatia confirming the safety and long term efficacy of PAE – showed that there is upto 80% reduction in lower urinary tract symptoms on average and more than 94% patients are permanently catheter free 3 months after the procedure. More than 65% of patients were completely BPH medication-free at 1 year!
The #1 PAE provider in Florida.

Thank you IR team with Uhealth 🧡💚Posted on P W Long story short, 5 months ago I was in the ER unable to urinate. I was catheterized and placed on meds. My prostate size was 130 (large). My urologist suggested PAE and told me to only trust Dr Bhatia to perform the procedure. Now... 5 months later, I am off of all meds, urinating like a younger man, and my prostate currently measures 85! I get up only once a night now to void. By all means this is a success for me. Dr. Bhatia is THE expert in this field. He was very communicative throughout this process. I felt at ease and taken care of. Highly recommend Dr Bhatia!!Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 18 reviews
